For the past week Warsaw became capital of humanitarian action. More than 200 students and academics participated in this annual conference.
On Monday 5th September we started the NOHA Intensive Programme 2016. It is annual event which brings to Warsaw more than 150 students from all over the world who start the NOHA Joint Master’s Programme in International Humanitarian Action. The programme is currently run by eight universities: Aix Marseille Université, Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Universidad de Deusto, Université catholique de Louvain, University College Dublin, Uppsala universitet and University of Warsaw.
During this intensive week our students had a chance to listen to over 50 speakers from the humanitarian sector and participate in a very realistic simulation exercise dedicated to personal security in a war zone areas. This year key note speech was given by Robert Smith, Chief of Partnerships Coordination Section, UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and Anne Simon from Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO).
We would like to thank everyone for the 2016 edition. We can’t wait for the next year!
