NOHA Warsaw organizes an open meeting with the representative of Médecins du Monde.
Médecins du Monde, or Doctors of the World, is a French medical non-governmental organization that functions as an active movement since 1980, and is present in 65 countries all over the world. The main goals are to facilitate access to health care for disadvantaged and excluded communities, and to have an impact on social change in order to make health care universally accessible. While working in four principal areas, such as Conflict and Crisis, Harm Reduction, Maternal and Child Health and finally Migrant Populations, Médecins du Monde succeeded to lead more than 70 programmes in more than 40 countries for a long time. Its values are: social justice, equality in terms of access to health care, respect of fundamental rights, solidarity, independence from any political groups as well as population’s autonomy. With the help and collaboration of local partners thye try to guarantee sustainability. The organization intervenes after natural disasters or war, but also denounces the revolting conditions and incapacity to access any medical treatment.
As the organization has an international network, on the 2nd of December 2016 we will have the opportunity to welcome our special guest Clara Bigel, coming from Paris. She’s a member of Médecins du Monde who is charged of Recruitment Communication. Her presentation, titled “Médecins du Monde internationally”, will introduce you in details to the organization, its functioning, projects all around the globe, as well as advice concerning having a professional career in Médecins du Monde. This meeting will include a time specially dedicated to all the questions you may have.
